When creating the tapestries, Pashkova drew from the content of the layout books for Rya Nikonova's edition ‘Tonejarl’, in a peculiar way continuing the developments of the transfurists. On the jacquard ‘Fuha’ one can see exercises in the organisation of letters and words, which in many ways resemble weaving schemes, for example, letters alternating like threads in a plain weave; or words lined up diagonally as in a twill weave. Tonejarl assembles an experimental system of techniques for creating literary and visual works, in many ways resembling a textbook for future generations. Pashkova proposes her own ‘weaving’ classification, firmly based on the foundation that Rya has laid.
The semi-abstract work ‘Spit and Laughter of the Artist’ is stitched together from samples and tests for jacquard weaving: brightness and expressiveness are achieved through pragmatic selection of threads in terms of thickness, colour and composition, as well as through experimentation with types of weaves. The title of the work was inspired by one of Ry Nikonova's poems — ‘Spit and Kiss’.
Rya often cut out scraps of her typewritten or handwritten poems and pasted them into other literary contexts, creating new works. Similar to this practice, the artist stitches the fragments into one large piece. On top of it several vacuum poems formed according to the principles described in the Tonejarl edition can be seen.
